Mazingira Green Hub Participates in Sheria Ya Vijana Training on Entrepreneurship and Advocacy
Mazingira Green Hub proudly participated in the Sheria Ya Vijana Training held on 25th, 26th, 27th, and 30th March 2026 at the YMCA. The organization was honored to be among the selected Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) invited to take part in this impactful capacity-building program aimed at empowering youth-led and community organizations to drive sustainable development through entrepreneurship and advocacy.
The Sheria Ya Vijana training brought together representatives from various Community-Based Organizations to strengthen their knowledge, leadership, and practical skills in addressing emerging social, economic, and environmental challenges. The program placed a strong emphasis on the opportunities presented by the twin green and digital economy, recognizing the growing need for communities and organizations to embrace sustainable innovation while leveraging digital technologies for inclusive growth.
Throughout the four-day training, participants engaged in interactive learning sessions, practical discussions, group activities, and networking opportunities designed to enhance their understanding of entrepreneurship, policy advocacy, and community engagement. The sessions encouraged participants to develop innovative solutions that promote environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and youth empowerment within their respective communities.

Mazingira Green Hub was ably represented by its Treasurer, Mr. Moses Ayiecho, who actively participated in all the training sessions and engagements. His involvement reflected the organization’s commitment to continuous learning, institutional growth, and strengthening its capacity to implement impactful community initiatives. By engaging with fellow participants, facilitators, and sector experts, Mr. Ayiecho gained valuable insights into best practices for advocacy, enterprise development, and collaborative approaches to advancing sustainable development goals.
A key focus of the training was empowering Community-Based Organizations to become stronger advocates for policies and initiatives that support environmental conservation, climate resilience, youth participation, and economic inclusion. Participants explored how entrepreneurship can serve as a catalyst for community transformation by creating green jobs, promoting innovation, and improving livelihoods while protecting natural resources.
The training also highlighted the increasing importance of digital technologies in driving sustainable development. Discussions centered on how organizations can utilize digital tools for communication, advocacy campaigns, project management, data collection, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. These skills are essential for organizations seeking to remain effective and relevant in an increasingly digital world.
Participation in the Sheria Ya Vijana training aligns with Mazingira Green Hub’s mission of promoting environmental stewardship, empowering communities, and supporting sustainable socio-economic development. The knowledge and practical experience gained during the program will contribute significantly to strengthening the organization’s future programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts.
Beyond acquiring new skills, the training provided an excellent platform for networking and collaboration with other Community-Based Organizations working toward similar objectives. These connections create opportunities for knowledge sharing, strategic partnerships, and collective action in addressing environmental and community development challenges across the region.
Mazingira Green Hub remains committed to applying the lessons learned from the Sheria Ya Vijana training to develop innovative community-driven initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, youth leadership, and effective advocacy.
